New Labour Deceit
New Labour particularly recently under Brown have been portraying themselves as a party that cares about the traditional Tory issues of Britishness and Law and Order. However while proclaiming that we must be proud of our nation and history they have been acquiescing to foreign interests in the EU, with Blair, caring more about pleasing his foreign politician friends than the British people whose best interests he is supposed to represent above all else, surrendering our rebate and getting nothing in return, and now Brown seeking to avoid a referendum on the European Union reform treaty. Labour promised a referendum on the EU constitution, in their last election manifesto, which did not happen as it was abandoned due to referendums not passing it in France and the Netherlands, however the European Union reform treaty is incredibly similar to the constitution so right thinking people would think he would give a referendum on this to. He has however thus far ignored calls for one this is because he wishes to sign us up to the treaty but knows the British people are against it as they unlike him care about loss of sovereignty on issues as important as giving the EU the power to define criminal offences and set minimum sentences and power to harmonise civil and criminal laws and legal procedures and a loss of vetoes on transport policy, energy policy, space policy, science policy, sport, and the yearly budget.
Labour have attempted to appear tough on law and order yet they have presided over increasing gun crime and yobishness while continuing the pretence that restricting the law abiding public in self defence and gun ownership will somehow stop criminals from behaving violently and using guns. They have presided over the appalling murders of Gary Newlove and Rhys Jones which should not have happened in a first world society or any society for that matter, and the prosecution of Tony Martin which showed that the ancient common law principle of tutissimum refugium (that is the principle that a mans home is his safest refuge and as such he has no duty to retreat from using deadly violence as he may do in for example a bar fight) no longer counts in modern Britain. The parole hearing when it was decided that Martin was a danger to burglars so not to release him early showed the appalling state of mind in the judicial system, it is of course a householders duty to be a danger to burglars and burglars bring this upon themselves when they burgle.
Labour appeal to the electorate with platitudes of being economically responsible and looking out for the hard working family yet continue to support and enlarge big government, they place a heavy tax burden on those struggling to afford to bring up children responsibly to subsidise the feckless, and have damaged appallingly through their tax policies private pensions while continuing to expand public sector employment with guaranteed cushy public pensions. Brown has sold of at well below their value the gold reserves supposed to back our currency to buy paper money subject to inflation. He talks of competing with the growing industry of China yet increases the tax and regulation burden discouraging business investment and enterprise, and now he talks of increasing labour laws that while sounding attractive have caused unemployment in Germany and France, who have tried to reform them recently because of this. Another term under Labour will bring more laws that restrict personal freedom, more taxes and more loss of sovereignty to the EU.
