Committee
Marc Stockings
Chairman of the Association
Marc is a third year English Literature student and, as of May 2006, the Deputy Chair of the Kent University Conservative Association. He has been a member of KUCA since 2004, elected to the Committee in 2005, and a member of East Kent and Canterbury Conservative Club since 2005.
Originally from London, but now living near Cambridge, Marc attended school in Bury St Edmunds, where he quickly took a keen interest in politics. Marc is a strong believer in the Thatcherite economic model, and is an advocate of the approach taken by Benjamin Disraeli on social policy.
Marc believes that the current Government’s treatment of veterans is appalling and derogatory; and more should be done to care for those who have given their lives serving our country.
Marc is a member of Countryside Alliance, and takes an eager interest in rural affairs, specifically the preservation of the rural landscape. Other issues that Marc is interested in are global warming, national health, and urban regeneration.
Outside of politics Marc’s interests include boxing, clay pigeon shooting, chess, football and cricket.

Nick Smith
Press Officer
My name is Nick and I am a third year history student.
I have been a lifelong conservative, and it is the core values of conservatism that best represent my political views. Therefore I believe in democracy, a strong economy, and freedom of choice.
I believe in strong support for the military, pursuing an Atlanticist and Europeanist foreign policy, and support for rural affairs.
In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, travelling, reading and playing football.

Joanna Price
Secretary of the Association
My name's Joanna and I'm a second year Film Studies student. I have lived in Canterbury all my life and have been brought up within a Conservative supporting family. I have been recently elected Registrar of the Association and I hope that I will be able to perform my duties to the best of my abilities.
I have always been a strong believer in the views and beliefs held by the Conservative party and I hope to continue to support the party for the rest of my life. I have a strong hope that one day, the Conservative party can once again take up its rightful place within our government and bring Britain out of the cloud of misery Labour has put us under since they have come into power. Democracy, security and community are the key beliefs which I stand for and will continue to fight for.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing short novels, snooker and film making. I hope I can be a valuable member of KUCA and that we can help to encourage others that Conservatism is the right way forward.
